What happened
Oddis Bernard Colvin Jr., 33, was fatally shot by Baltimore County police after a bank robbery in Pikesville, Maryland, on September 23, 2016. Police said two men fled a bank in a car and officers confronted them as they attempted to escape. According to the department, Colvin was driving and accelerated the car toward an officer, who fired. Colvin died and the passenger was injured. Police later identified the other man as Michael Eugene Stratton, whom prosecutors charged with robbery. The reported threat posed by the vehicle came from the police account; the charges against Stratton were not findings against Colvin, who died before any trial.
