What happened

Jabril Robinson, 23, was shot and killed by Clayton County police on May 16, 2016, after officers answered a domestic-disturbance call on Cheryl Leigh Drive in Riverdale, Georgia. A woman reported an argument; Robinson was not at the residence when officers arrived. One officer located him, and he ran through the area and attempted unsuccessfully to enter another house. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said responding police saw Robinson with a handgun and fired during a confrontation in the yard of a home on West Fayetteville Road. Robinson died at a hospital; no officers were injured. The GBI opened an independent review for referral to the district attorney. The initial release does not provide a final criminal charging decision, and the alleged handgun threat remains attributed to investigators.
