What happened

Bobby Daniels, 48, died after a Douglas County sheriff's deputy shot him during a confrontation at Arbor Village Mobile Home Park in Douglasville, Georgia, on December 21, 2015. A security guard had reported being held at gunpoint. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, deputies encountered Daniels's son Bias holding a firearm; Bias lowered it, but Bobby grabbed it and father and son wrestled for control. An officer fired a Taser at Bias, with little effect. As the weapon reportedly pointed toward the deputies during the struggle, one deputy fired and killed Bobby. Bias fled and was later arrested. The GBI opened an independent inquiry and said its findings would be referred to the district attorney; this initial investigative account is not a final adjudication.
