What happened
Bobby R. Anderson, 27, was killed by an officer on a U.S. Marshals violent-offender task force at a convenience store in Alexandria, Louisiana, in September 2015. The Associated Press reported that members of the task force were trying to serve warrants alleging attempted second-degree murder and other offenses. Alexandria police said Anderson threatened officers as they attempted to take him into custody, and a task-force member shot him. Authorities reported recovering a gun they believed he had possessed. The separate criminal accusations against Anderson were outstanding warrants, not adjudicated convictions. Public police statements establish the task-force operation; the material reviewed does not confirm a final independent charging decision about the shooting.
