What happened
Bobby Troledge Norris, 53, died after officers located him outside a home on Mae Matilda Court in Archdale, North Carolina, on August 23, 2015. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said Archdale officers responded to a 911 call about a domestic situation and reports that shots had been fired. High Point officers joined the response and located Norris behind the residence. The SBI described an armed confrontation involving four officers, whom it identified as Tim Coats, Andrew Lanier, Zach Trotter and John Antignano. Its August 28 release stated that the investigative report would be submitted to the district attorney. That statement documents an ongoing inquiry, not a final ruling on legal justification.
