What happened
Albert Joseph Davis, 23, was shot and killed by Orlando police Officer Kelvin Vidro at the Wataunga Woods Apartments on July 17, 2015. Police were called about a disturbance near the apartment pool. Davis ran from an attempted contact and Vidro pursued him. According to reporting compiled by APM, the officer used a Taser during the chase, followed by a struggle and gunfire. Davis was hospitalized and died from his wounds. Vidro was placed on leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated. The escalation from pursuit and Taser to a fatal gunshot is documented, but the officer's account of the perceived threat should not be presented as an independent court finding.
