What happened

Edward Foster III, 35, was killed by Homestead Officer Anthony Green near Southwest 328th Street and 187th Avenue, Florida, on July 16, 2015. Green was in his patrol car after responding to a call about an armed man near a construction site. Police said Foster reached for a gun and that a pistol was recovered. Foster's mother and sisters said he was on his way home from work and contested the assertion that he threatened the officer. The Miami Herald reported that Green had participated in earlier shootings, including fatal incidents. Miami-Dade police investigated the encounter; the family's objections and the official description should be kept distinct, and no later criminal conviction was confirmed in these sources.
